You can prearrange private transportation to your hotel ahead of time.

Or you can wait until you get to Cancun and take a shuttle to your hotel for $9.00 per person.
Then for your return trip to the airport you would take a taxi, which is 200 pesos for up to 4 people, that's roughly $20 us.

Since you're staying at Casa Maya, I would highly recommend the private transfer if you want to get there quick.
If the van is full, you'll be making many stops before you get to your hotel.
But, if getting there quick is not a priority, this is a good way to see more of Cancun before you get to your hotel

getting Mapchick's map of Cancun (if it hasn't been recommended already to you). Click on the very first link in the light yellow bar at the top of this page. It will show you every restaurant, hotel, tour, etc. in the hotel zone and downtown. I just got their new one and have spend hours already going over new stuff on it from the last printing of the map. It is full of very useful information and average prices for places: tours to Isla Mujeres, the bus sytem, getting to and from the airport, etc. That way you can see what will work best for you. It is $8 very well worth spending. I wouldn't be without mine and I've been going to Cancun for over 10 years.
