Typical French. They have that reputation. One of our first few years in Cancun, some rude French woman tried to start a fight with me. Had no idea what she was saying.....Just yelling at me in French and sticking her finger at me. I was just sitting there on the dock waiting for the Jungle Tour to start. Randy witnessed the whole fiasco and we can think of one of two things: Mistaken identity or she just doesn't like Americans. I came close to doing something, but her family eventually pulled her away. It will always go down as one of the most bizarre moments for us in Cancun for us.

From all your trip report photos and the like I must say you are QUITE intimidating......smiling all the time and laughing little hee hees and such. Maybe you should brood more and furrow your brow and say things like "Chacun son gout" or "ce la vie"
or "quelle coiffeure comp pense tu" ou " je voudre la salle de baine" or whatever is French for "I have a sideways poopy stuck somewhere"......

Most waiters in Cancun use to tip their seating host/hostess so he/she would NOT sit Argentineans in their sections as Argentineans are know to leave small change for a tip, even on a $1,000 pesos dinner bill.

The maids do not like people from DF (Mexico City) as many are VERY sloppy and most likely do not leave a daily, or end of trip, tip.

Servers do not like people from DF as they will work your butt off (change this, give me a new that, etc.) for very little tip. Also, they tend to snap their fingers at servers (which they HATE).

When it's needed, I can always call them "pandejo", which means asshole in Spanish. One of the locals taught me that one.
