so, it get back from down home and turn on the computer. thing is, it doesn't turn on!!! so it is on it's way to be repaired. i have a loaner that first needs alot of updating, then i have to try to configure it for my e-mail, docs, programs, etc. a Total PIA!!!! i get the backup of my data tomorrow am and will be working to try to get caught up on stuff. i'll be around as i can. sigh. tim

ps: hey Paul, i did send you replies, but i don't know if you got em. new server settings have been goofy too. seems like Kent and i can't catch a break lately.

it literally poured around here!! i hope my puter can be fixed. i want my XP back!! i'm not to sure about this Vista.

Good luck getting yourself set up Tim--Computer woes are a BIG PIA!!!! Having some of my own and tech support is such a joke-was supposed to hear from a technician to come service it by close of business yesterday---still waiting and I'm taking off for a long weekend for the holiday at 5pm tomorrow--Looks like it will be sometime next week before I am up and running at full capacity again. big sigh---Hope you get it all straightened out before that--Enjoy the 4th!

If you're getting a new one, some companies are offering a choice of XP or Vista. If you're fixing the old one, surely you have the XP install disk in case you need to reload it. And even if you're getting a new one that has Vista, it's not that big a deal to reformat the hard drive and start over with XP. There are always options.

that was pre-installed on my computer. i am Hoping my computer can be fixed and i can use it for another couple of years until there is a Vista SP10.

i was able to login into my CARM e-mail via webmail. that is a PIA!! i can't open windows like i can with Outlook.

no back up disk yet. tim
