Hi - I am trying to convince my husband to go to Cancun in October with some relatives who have invited us. We will be staying at the Adventura Spa Palace. He doesn't think that there will be much for us to do there. Can you please enlighten me as to what have been your favorite activities while there? We're not into fishing, sailing or scuba diving. What restaurants would you recommend? I see that people haved recommended Mextreme from this list!

During the day, I would recommend Xel-Ha. It's a nice eco park with paths, swimming, beaches and hammocks. I posted some photos of our 2004 trip on this website's photo gallery, under the tours page.

You can also go over to Isla for the day. Rent a golf cart and drive it around the island. Beach and bar hop with the cart. There's the turtle farm and Dophin Discovery over there too. Query my Day 3 trip report, if you haven't seen it yet. Isla has lots of beautiful beaches and beach bars.

I would also recommend Perico's in downtown Cancun. That can be an evening long dinner/festivity.

If I am correct you are not near Cancun so what advice Lisa gave you is very good

Carol, the Aventura is about 45 minutes south of Cancun. Playa del Carmen is about 15 minutes north. you may want to think about hangin around Playa, and perhaps taking the ferry over to Cozumel. the Palaces May have a shuttle to Cancun, i don't know for sure. i suggest the Riviera Maya Map & Guide from www.cancunmap.com they also have a Great Playa map! tim

A tour of the Coba Mayan ruins is nice.

If you still can't convince hubby to go, I can pack on a moments notice!
