I saw the news about Champion. I wonder how that will affect travelers. We have always been able to get good prices on their charters. Bummer.

Yep...I saw that too. We've used them in the past, but not for a couple of years. Worry Free Vacations either hasn't been booking flights on the days we needed or got ridiculously expensive. Been saving mucho dinero flying Sun Country and NW the past several trips, surprisingly enough. However it's sad to see them go. That's two in about two or three days: Aloha and Champion.
I HATE the idea of CA calling it quits I have flown MANY times on CA from MSP to CUN.....so sorry to see them quit

I saw that on the news too. Bummer! They were a nice airline with nice attendants. I really enjoyed using them.
i agree with the nice attendants. it's been awhile since i've used them. i got tired of traveling to hubs, staying over night, and the reverse upon my return. i'm afraid the big guys will increase their prices, again, with the small operators going out of business.

I read about Champion in our Sunday paper. I think it's really disappointing that they will no longer be flying, as I bet I booked 90% of my trips with them, as they always had great prices. Now I think MLT is going with just NWA, which is not a good thing. I think my Cancun trips will be fewer for sure. Bummer!
MLT stopped flying from Detroit a few months ago....a bummer since they have had the best deals to Cancun over the last few years.
From what I've seen the past couple of years, they've been using Champion some days, NW others. The days I've wanted to go have recently been non-Champion, and listed as using NW with fares at least $100 higher per person. Too bad Champion didn't stick around and MLT calling it quits.
Maybe if someone bought them some new airplanes they could stick around? That's the problem...those old 727's used too much fuel. I agree...they were good folks.
