Cancun Trip Report - Day 8
Lisa in MN 3/30/08 18:23

I forgot to tell a story from the previous day. During my day of admiring the ocean and looking around, I saw that a couple ordered some chips and salsa from Moises. After they ate some chips, they laid in their chair to relax and soak up the sun. That is when the beach segulls take action. They are aggressive scavengers (rats with wings) and they contiuously would swoop down to the chip basket and grab chips and fly away. The couple would try and shoo them off, but the birds watched and when they saw that the couple had their eyes closed, they swooped down again and grabbed more chips. It was funny and entertaining to watch. Moral of the story - cover your food on the beach.

We had breakfast at the Pina Colada before we checked out and then took some final beach photos.

Yes, aren't they cute? Thanks everyone for your compliments....like I had anything to do with their cuteness, but I can be a proud aunt. They really had a great time and loved Mexico. After their plane landed in MN, Carissa said to her mother, "I'm cold, I want to go back to Mexico". Makes me proud of her. I want to go back too. Here is a view of the snow from the plane window...

It was a long day of traveling. We left the hotel at 10:30 for a 1pm flight, which ended up being delayed a couple of hours. By the time we got home it was after 7pm. Ordered a pizza and then the CWS quickly set in. Just remembering all the fun from the previous week...

Thanks Lisa! I really enjoyed your reports!

How long did it take for your legs to heal up? They looked painful!!! :(

It took about a week before the pain was completely gone. Gave me a reason to not wear nylons at work (Yeah!). Probably another 4-5 days before the blisters were gone (you can't pop them - they will eventually dissolve). The last of the flaking stopped last week. Ugh!!! Mas cuidado next time!

Your reports and pictures were awesome.

Yes, your nieces are absolutely adorable. Too cute!

Don't ya just hate landing when MN looks like a frozen tundra from the plane?!?! Argh!

I think it's funny how you and I like all the same places.....Perico's, Mextreme and Sombrero. I'm glad our pics are still hanging at Sombrero....I think I have a few there now. LOL!

Well, hopefully all our snow has fallen for this year and we're into spring now.....I hope anyway.

Thanks for the great reports!

Thanks Jodi...

Finally the snow is melting. Doesn't mean that I'm scheming for another quick trip to Cancun again soon. Can't do June due to class, but maybe end of May??? Watching airfare almost daily.
