As for drapes/blinds...we went to the new Homedepot that just opened and went with verticle blinds and their prices were good also..didn't go with the custom made blinds as we found they are more expensive in MX than in the States.
Altimus does have blinds, not sure about drapes, but they were custom. They do have lamps, pictures, occasional items. Also living room furniture.....that will be our next purchase. Costco also has furniture/rugs, etc. as well as Homedepot......Homedepot seems to be better priced than Costco. I don't know where you are from but the new Homedepot is just like walking into one in the US, so great for tools and gadgets also at Homedepot they do have clerks that speak English if language is a problem
If you need a fridge - we bought ours at Sam's Club for about 550 USD - full size and a General Electric in the new gray color that looks like stainless steel, but you don't have the fingerprint marks as you do with stainless.
There is another place downtown called Telebodega that I've heard many people talk about that has lots of decorating items at very cheap prices....that will be my next stop after living room furn. to see what they have there.
If you don't speak Spanish it's a good idea to take someone shopping with you that does. I understand more than I can speak and did have a friend with us who speaks Spanish.
One more tip, if you won't be living at your condo year round, for your electric and water service....pay several months in advance, like up to your next scheduled trip....works out great and we've been doing it since Oct. with no errors on the bills or problems. We do the same with our monthly condo fees.....just keep all your receipts for everything in case you need them.
If we can be of further help, just let us know.
