Clive,
The only gay bars I know of are located in downtown Cancun...not the hotel zone. I doubt you would feel uncomfortable in the nightclubs in the hotel zone though. The two bars I know of are Karamba (located on Avenida Tulum & Calle Azucenas, upstairs from Club Sandwich Cafe), and Picante. Sorry, but I don't know where Picante is located. I believe Karamba is closed on Mondays.
