    If you like golf then the Cancun area is the place for you. The courses found here are well designed and well maintained. Most of them are challenging and all of them are fun to play. It goes without saying that golf is a year-round activity in the tropical weather and setting of Cancun. This report has been designed to give you all of the information for the best golf courses in the Cancun area all in one place.

         This course offers some oceanfront holes and even some small, authentic mayan ruins in a few spots. There is a practice tee and a putting green.

          Located at the Melia Hotel in the Hotel Zone at Km 16. Features a putting green.

          This course has a small putting green.

         Pro shop, practice green and driving range. A Championship golf course which is the highlight for the Hilton Cancun Hotel.

    Riviera Maya Courses
    The area from Cancun southbound for about sixty miles is known as the Riviera Mayan. The golf courses that have been developed along this corridor are nothing less than fabulous. Two of the four courses are found on the premises of large and beautiful resorts but are accessible to the public. You do not have be a guest at the resort to play their course.

         The three courses are known as Jungle, Lake and Dune. Each one offers its own special challenges. Pro shop, putting green and driving range are available. You do not have to be guest at the resort to use the golf club.

         By far my favorite course in the Cancun area. The resort is fabulous and the course is very challenging. Putting/practice green and clubhouse are available.

         Located in the town of Playa del Carmen this course is beautiful. It is literally carved out of the jungle. It is meticulously maintained. Has a putting green and a driving range.

         This is the southernmost golf course currently along the Riviera Maya. It is located in development of Puerto Aventuras which is a full-service golf, tennis and marina community. The course includes a practice green.
     
    Meet the Author
    Brenton S Mulliner Brenton S. Mulliner, formerly a yellow pages publisher, has traveled to Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, the Hawaiian Islands and extensively in the Caribbean. He lived in Argentina for two years and visited that country from Buenos Aires to Tierra del Fuego. Brenton and his wife have been exploring Mexico since 1996 and they have lived in the Cancun area off and on during that time with their five children. All of the photos in the book and the video footage on the DVD for What’s Cheap And Free In Cancun (and The Yucatan) have been taken by the author, Mr. Mulliner!
